The Chicago Rock Island and Gulf Railroad built this steel truss railroad bridge about 1923 as part of the railroad’s extension to the Terminal Grain Co. in Riverside. It was the first rail line connecting Riverside with downtown Fort Worth. The through truss and the open wooden trestle section to the west rest on concrete piers.
