This small “classical temple” gas station is con structed of red brick with projecting corner piers which are decorated with vertical inset panels of yellow brick. The large, central, projecting service bay has been brick¬ed in. Roland A. McGinnis, a plumber, purchased the property in 1928 and built the gas station the sameyear. City directory records indicate that it was a Gulf lease filling station. McGinnis received his gasoline permit in June, 1929. The station is identical to a 1930 Gulf lease station at 3401 N. Main Street.
