Temple Bowen House – Thomas

Temple Bowen, vice-president and general manager of Bowen Motor Coaches, purchased one and one-half lots in the Crestmount subdivision in 1929. Construction of his house is said to have taken place in time for Thanksgiving, 1929. The large cross-gabled, T-plan house has a veneer of polychrome sandstone with red brick trim; steeply pitched roofs are clad in red tile. The Period Revival house features an arched entry and a series of corbeled arches opening onto a comer terrace. Significant alterations include a second story rear addition sheathed in asbestos siding and the enclosing of an arched entry on the terrace.
