Historic Fort Worth, Inc. Announces the 2025 Cantey Lecture & Preservation Awards

Fort Worth, Texas — Sept. 26, 2025— Historic Fort Worth, Inc. is proud to announce the 2025 Cantey Lecture and Preservation Awards, an evening dedicated to honoring the city’s rich architectural legacy and those who champion its preservation. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at The Woman’s Club of Fort Worth, 1316 Pennsylvania Ave.

The evening begins with the Cantey Lecture, featuring Willis C. Winters, FAIA—architect, author, and former Director of the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department. Winters will present a captivating lecture on Dilbeck Homes, exploring the whimsical, storybook architecture of Charles S. Dilbeck and his unique impact on North Texas neighborhoods.

Following the lecture, Historic Fort Worth will present its annual Preservation Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions in safeguarding Fort Worth’s historic places. These awards celebrate individuals, organizations, and projects that demonstrate vision, leadership, and dedication to preserving the city’s architectural heritage.

“Fort Worth’s historic fabric is one of its greatest assets,” said Jerre Tracy, Executive Director of Historic Fort Worth, Inc. “The Cantey Lecture and Preservation Awards bring together our community to honor those who protect this identity while engaging with ideas that shape our future.”
