Boyd House – Clara

Constructed in 1919, the design of this two-story stucco-clad residence was inspired by the Prairie Style houses of Frank Lloyd Wright, which incorporated shallow-pitched hipped roofs with wide overhangs. Reputedly, it was built by its first owner, Ellis H. Boyd, part owner of a motor company and oil well manufacturing company in the 1920s. With further documentation, the house may be eligible for the National Register. The Boyd House was designated as a Historic and Cultural Landmark in 2003.
