Kerr House – Hemphill

This large shingle-clad house was one of the last early 20th-century residences on Hemphill Street north of Rosedale. It was distinguished by a corbelled second-story bay window on the front and elaborate fanlit stairwell fenestration. The earliest recorded owner was Edgar Kerr, who worked in the State Comptroller’s Office. The house was destroyed by fire, but retained in the survey for purposes of documentation.
