Martin House – Elizabeth

The Martin House is a two-story wood-framed dwelling, rectangular in plan and clad in red brick with glazed green-tiled roof. A full balustraded terrace extends across the front, with central roof-terraced portico. Double doors flanking the portico open onto the terrace. The house was built in 1919 for Benjamin H. Martin, vice-president of the Farmers & Mechanics National Bank. It remained in the Martin family until 1948. The Martin House is a contributing resource in the Elizabeth Boulevard Historic District (local and national).
