Newberry House – Avenue E

2815-2819 Avenue E is a one-story rectangular house with a hip roof and full recessed front porch supported by tapered Tuscan columns on brick bases. Newberry, call man and head janitor at the Texas and Pacific Railroad passenger station, built the houses as a single-family dwelling about 1910. In 1927, Newberry hired contractor H.H. Campbell to add several rooms tot he house and convert it into a duplex. Newberry sold the property in 1939, and it has passed through several owners since.
