Built in 1951, the former Riverside Baptist Church, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, now offers affordable living spaces. Initially designed by architects Easterwood and Easterwood, the church underwent expansions in 1951 and 1958, playing a vital role in Central Fort Worth. However, its final service took place on Christmas Eve 2018.
Austin-based Saigebrook Development and Irving-based Accolade Property Management embarked on transforming the church into Cielo Place, a mixed-income residential community that addresses the neighborhood’s pressing need for affordable housing. Cielo Place represents a blend of historical preservation and modern amenities, offering a unique opportunity to preserve history and create new opportunities for the community, according to Lisa Stephens, owner and president of Saigebrook Development.
