Abbott-Popworth Hosue – First

This one-story house has a central hipped block with gabled bays intersecting from the front and side. The half front porch has a hipped roof supported by Tuscan columns. Robert W. Abbott hired William Cameron and Co. to supply the materials for this house in 1909 for $800. Abbott lived here for only one year; it was apparently rented until Charles Popworth, a landscape architect and florist, bought the house in 1918. It remained in the Popworth family until 1949.
