Robert L. Carlock, Jr., a contractor who owned Southland Tile and Mantle Co., built this U-plan bungalow in 1925. Obscured by trees and foliage, this one-story structure is constructed of fine polychrome red and black brick. Two gabled wings flank a central terrace with French doors opening to the interior. Set on a large lot, this house is a good example of 1920s eclectic design. The house remained in the Carlock family until 1944.
