The Ponton House is a picturesquely massed Mediterranean style house with white stuccoed walls and flat roofs trimmed in red tile. The chimney is treated as an arcaded belvedere. Designed by Joseph R. Pelich, the house was built c. 1920. The first owner-occupant was Dr. A. R. Ponton, a well-known Fort Worth physician, who established a clinic on Pennsylvania Avenue in the 1930s. The Ponton House was designated as a Historic and Cultural Landmark in 2001 and is also a contributing resource in the Mistletoe Heights Historic District. It was individually listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2006 at the local level of significance as an excellent example of the Spanish Eclectic style and as the work of prominent local architect Joseph R. Pelich. The accompanying photo was taken in 2000.
