Devitt Commercial Block – 7th

This small commercial structure containing three storefronts was constructed by C. 0. Kingston, contractor, in 1928 for owner Ruth Devitt, who ran the Metal Arts Company. A number of retail firms have occupied the premises since the 1930s. The rectangular structure of hollow tile construction has a textured buff-yellow brick facade topped by three peaked parapets. Doors with arched transoms and shop windows have been altered.
