Odum House – Adams

The Odum House is a one-story wood-framed dweling, rectangular in plan, with a hipped roof and full recessed porch supported by paired posts. A gable projects forward over the entry, with applied half-timbering and decorative barge-board. The house was built c. 1910 and first occupied by Richard A. Spiecker, chief dispatcher for the Chicago Rock Island & Gulf Railway. The property went through a succession of owners until c. 1929, when the Odum family purchased it and lived here through the 1960s. The cottage is a good example of its type and period. This resource has been demolished.
