Harter-Hammond House – Bomar

One of the earliest houses in the Meadowbrook area, this two-story house is clad in narrow drop siding with a hipped porch supported by Tuscan colmnns. A large hipped dormer penetrates the low hipped roof. According to tax records, this house was built m 1910. William J. Harter, a yardmaster for the Texas and Pacific Railroad, sold the house in 1920 to Samuel I Hammond, whose family occupied it until 1948. Hammond was a clerk at Burrus Mills and Elevator Co.
