Robles House – Bryan

This one-story L-plan house with half porch was a widespread type in Tarrant County at the turn of the century. This well-preserved example has delicate shinglework in the gable ends and lathed posts with jigsaw brackets on the porch. It was purchased by Jesus Robles in 1949 and is owned by a descendant. The house has been altered slightly since originally documented. Some of the windows have been replaced with shorter units or the openings infilled with siding to match the original. The exterior has been painted turquoise and windows are covered with security bars. The house has changed owners several times since originally documented. The lower photo was taken in 2007.
